You may have been hearing about GDPR, the acronym for the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, which went into effect on May 25th. This regulation establishes rules for the protection of personal data for individuals that are located within the European Union and the European Economic Area.
The GDPR imposes requirements on companies, including those in the United States, that collect or use personal data gathered from individuals located within Europe.
